Chairpersons Address 2016

As Chairperson it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Corrandulla Show 2016, we hope you have a wonderful day. Corrandulla is a fine example of a traditional Agricultural Show but as well as the huge range of events associated with a show we have good food, shopping, entertainment and family fun. On the entertainment front we have a free inflatable village and face painting for children, live music with DAKOTA and “Tastes of Trad Lackagh”, pet’s corner, indoor and outdoor Country Market and much, much more. Providing a fun filled day is what Corrandulla all about.

New attractions are always being added and this year the show is delighted to host – the All Ireland Home Cook Semi Final which will be held alongside cookery demonstrations with Chef Adrian form TV3 – definitely not to be missed. Don’t leave this area without visiting the wonderful display of all types of “Arts & Crafts” in the fine new gymnasium, all kindly sponsored by Creaven’s Costcuters Corrandulla.

We have also extended our Cattle, Horse and Connemara Pony sections but for the best fun wait for the last event, the Donkey Derby. If Show Jumping is your thing then the Connacht Grand Prix is the place to be it starts at 3pm and is sponsored once again by Kenny Motors.

An event of this size would be impossible to run without the generosity and support of many people, we are most indebted to our sponsors, without their backing there would be no show.

The generosity of our landowners knows no bounds, they continue to allow us the use of their fields in good weather and bad, to them we are eternally grateful.

Corrandulla Show is all about community, it is run by a wonderful group of volunteers who are the back bone of the show and are a joy to work with. Their dedication and vision has seen this show grow and improve year on year, we hope they will all be with us to celebrate our 40th anniversary next year.

Finally we remind you to keep safety paramount, please obey the stewards and keep well away from animals at all times. We hope you have a great day and that you can join us again next year for our special 40th anniversary celebrations.
