JOIN US TO CELEBRATE CORRANDULLLA SHOW’S 40TH ANNIVERSARY

This year marks a landmark birthday for Corrandulla Show and we hope you can join us in celebrating our 40th year. Firstly we would like to thank you for your continued support, you have helped bring our show from a small community event to one of the biggest agricultural shows in the country which attracts people, young and old, from far and wide.

We are very proud to celebrate 40 years of Corrandulla Show and intend to make it extra special. We begin our celebrations with a big Show Dance, featuring Country Music Star Jimmy Buckley on 9th of June, we expect this to be a “sell out” event so get out those dancing shoes and get your tickets in good time. We also launch our show on the 9th so it will be a busy evening, watch this space for further developments.

Each year we endeavour to improve on the last, we now offer a wide variety of food, shopping, and entertainment for all the family to enjoy. For our younger visitors, our free inflatable village, face painting etc will once again make an appearance and there will be live music throughout the day.

The indoor and outdoor country market will also be back to showcase the best of locally produced food and crafts. Our new gymnasium will once again host the “Arts and Crafts” competitions so be sure not miss out on the talent our community and visitors have to offer. We thank Creaven’s Costcutter, Corrandulla who came on board last year to sponsor this section of the show.

Show jumping as well as pony and cattle classes will all feature. As usual the Kenny Motors sponsored Connacht Grand Prix will be a big attraction, this kicks off at 3pm and is not to be missed. Show Jumping starts at 9am so there will be lots of action in this area throughout the day.

Our Pet’s Corner returns, along with our Dog Show and poultry section. Back by popular demand this year, we also have the Donkey Derby. This event proved a major success last year so be sure not to miss it!

An event this size would be impossible to run without a large number of volunteers and the support of the local community. The show is a wonderful example of a hugely successful community event, showcasing volunteerism and community spirit at its best. Some of our volunteers have grandparents who worked on the very first show demonstrating the strong family and community spirit we aim to represent. New members are always welcome but with our extensive plans for our 40th we will need all the help we can get, so if you fancy getting involved please feel free to contact us or come along to one of our meetings.

Keep an eye on this space for further developments.
