Please Note: 1st Prize Animals who win a class are not eligible to enter any other classes but are only eligible for the Championships.

Note: Classes may be amalgamated if there is less than 6 entries in the class.

COMMERCIAL SECTION

CLASS 1: Qualifier for THE IRISH SHOWS ASSOCIATION & SWINFORD SHOW SOCIETY PRESENT THE ALL IRELAND NON PEDIGREE SUCKLER HEIFER CHAMPIONSHIP. Sponsored by Progressive Genetics Entry Fee €10

1.The competition is open to All Breeds of non pedigree Heifers, suitable to pro-duce and rear a calf with potential for current commercial beef markets.
2. Heifers may be in calf or maiden at final. For heifers that are in-calf,
evidence must be produced i.e. Scanning Cert, or Insemination Cert.
3. Heifer’s potential mothering ability will be assessed.
4. Up to 2 heifers may qualify at each show if the standard is deemed
sufficient.
5. Individual exhibitors may qualify up to 2 heifers for the final.
6. All heifers must be haltered trained and led by a competent adult.
7. Animals qualifying for this final are ineligible for entry to other classes at the Swinford Show.
8. The foregoing rules should be read in conjunction with I.S.A/ General Rules for 2020 together with Swinford Show Rules.
Entry Fee to Final: €15 Final to be held at Swinford Show on Saturday 28th August 2022 with a prize fund of €1,600.

CLASS 2: Qualifier for THE IRISH SHOWS ASSOCIATION & GRANARD AGRICULTURAL SHOW PRESENT THE NON-PEDIGREE SUCKLER COW AND CALF ALL IRELAND CHAMPIONSHIP. Sponsored by Axa Insurance. Entry Fee €10

1. The competition is open to Non- Pedigree Cows with own calf at foot and to be judged 50/50.
2. Calves must be born on or after the 1st January 2022
3. Calf identity cards must be available at the Show.
4. Individual exhibitors may qualify up to 2 cows and calves for the final.
5. All animals must be halter trained and led by a competent adult.
6. Animals qualifying for this final are ineligible for entry to other classes at the Granard Show.
7. The foregoing rules should be read in conjunction with I.S.A/ General Rules for 2020 together with Granard Show Rules. Entry Fee to Final: €15
Final to be held at Granard Show on 16th July 2022

Please Note: Entries who are successful in qualifying for a Final must report to the Entries Tent on Show Day to complete Irish Shows Association Entry Form & pay entry fee for their Final.

Young Stockperson Section

Class 10: QUALIFIER FOR THE IRISH SHOWS ASSOCIATION PRESENT THE ALL IRELAND INTERMEDIATE YOUNG STOCKPERSON CHAMPIONSHIP 2022 13-17 YEARS OLD. Sponsored by FBD Insurance & The Farmer’s Journal

1. The Competition is open to girls and boys, age on the 1st September will determine the class each exhibitor enters.
2. One exhibitor qualifies from each qualifying show for the Final.
3. Animals can be of any Beef breed, male, or female (pedigree or non-pedigree beef) and must be leading.
4. An exhibitor can show an animal belonging to another herd owner.
5. Senior exhibitors will exhibit an animal male or female calf born between 1st December 2020 and 30th September 2021.
6. Calf identity cards to be available for inspection on show day.
7. Exhibitors may be asked for proof of their age at the final.
THE COMPETITION WILL BE JUDGED ON CRITERIA, WHICH MAY INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
1. The ability to handle and present the animal to its best advantage in the Show Ring.
2. General knowledge about the animal itself, including its feeding, breeding, etc.
3. Stock Judging, the ability to judge and place a group of animals.
4. Personal presentation of stock person.
5. Presentation of the animal.

Entry to Final is €15. Final to be held at Royal Meath Show (Trim) on Sunday 3rd September 2022.

Corrandulla Show & Cultivate Credit Union Young Stock Person Competitions

Prize Money 1st €50, 2nd €30, 3rd€20 Entry Fee: €5

Class 11: The St. Jarlath’s Credit Union Best Young Stockperson 12 years and under, to lead and show their animal.

Class 12: The St. Jarlath’s Credit Union Best Young Stockperson aged 13 – 17 years, to lead and show their animal.

PEDIGREE SECTION

CLASS 13: Qualifier for the IRISH SHOWS ASSOCIATION & CLONMANY SHOW PRESENT
THE ALL IRELAND PEDIGREE SUCKLER TYPE HEIFER CHAMPIONSHIP. Sponsored by Inish Farm Supplies

  1. The competition is open to All Breeds of Pedigree Suckler Type Heifers.

  2. Pedigree cert. for all entrants to be presented to Show Secretary on Show Day.

  3. Heifers potential mothering ability will be assessed.

  4. Up to 2 heifers may qualify at each show if the standard is deemed sufficient.

  5. Individual exhibitors may qualify up to 2 heifers for the final.

  6. All heifers must be halter trained and led by a competent adult.

  7. Animals qualifying for this final are ineligible for entry to other classes at Clonmany Show.

The foregoing rules should be read in conjunction with I.S.A/ General Rules for 2022 together with Clonmany Show Rules. Final to be held at Clonmany Show on Sunday 2nd August 2022 with a prize fund of €1,200. Entry fee to Final €15.

Galway Holstein Friesian Breeders Show

The Annual Club Show is to be held in conjunction with Corrandulla Show.
Classes will include all handling classes and everything from the March calf class right up to the senior milking cow classes. Champion of the Show to be presented with the Sean Codyre Trophy.
